The name “Gemba Grrrl” merges two concepts. “Gemba” in Japanese means “the place where things happen” and the four “rrr”s in “grrrl” pay homage to the old riot grrrl movement of the 90s. I was not a riot grrrl, but I try to harness that energy in my approach to nutrition and wellness.
